This neighborhood is just 20 minutes from Downtown Dallas, located between Preston Hollow and Park Cities. Known for its tree-lined streets, sprawling yards, creeks, and bluff (for which it’s named), Bluffview has top-notch private and public schools.


The average home price in Coppell is $318,000, with $1,225 for monthly rent, and it’s safer than 83 percent of cities in Texas. This family-friendly suburb located between Dallas and Fort Worth is just a half hour from the heart of Downtown. If you like to get out and explore, you will love the 66-acre Coppell Nature Park or LEGOLAND Discovery Center. The school system is also great, home to Lakeside Elementary, Coppell Middle School East and Coppell High School.

Highland Park

The average home price is $1.25 million, and $2,100 for monthly rental rates. It’s safer than 70 percent of other cities in Texas. This elite area of the Dallas metro features many single-family homes in the Mediterranean and Colonial styles. It sits west of White Rock Lake and is less than a half hour from the hub of Downtown Dallas and Deep Ellum. It’s safer than 23 percent of cities in Texas and is a great neighborhood for families who want access to urban amenities as well as outdoor recreation at White Rock Lake. It’s just five miles from Downtown Dallas, so it’s a great commuter location for those who work in the city or who attend Baylor University Medical Center.


The average home price is $304,000 and the average rent is $2,000 a month. Murphy is a very safe area – safer than 93 percent of cities in Texas in fact. This is a small suburb northeast of Dallas right outside of Plano and Garland. The housing here is relatively affordable and ranges from urban condos to traditional-style homes. This close-knit community is home to Murphy Central Park and nearby Lake Ray Hubbard, where you can go boating, fishing, or camping.

North Dallas

The average home price is $444,000, with monthly rental prices of $1,300. North Dallas is safer than 46 percent of cities in Texas. This large neighborhood is bordered by I-635, Northwest Highway, Dallas North Tollway, and Highway 75. You will find many styles of homes here, ranging from sprawling estates to modest ranches. Hit up the NorthPark Center, which is Dallas’ largest luxury shopping mall in Dallas. There are also many prestigious private schools here.

It’s just 20 minutes from Dallas Love Field Airport and Downtown Dallas, so what it lacks in safety it makes up for in proximity to the big city. This is an affordable neighborhood in Dallas compared with other neighborhoods like University Park. Preston Hollow has some of the most exclusive private schools in all of Dallas, such as Ursuline Academy of Dallas and St. Mark’s School of Texas.
